    Humanity does …
    ….

Humanity does this for almost 50 years… we call them barcodes.

I find it rather annoying that the call this “Augmented Reality” and “NEW TECHNOLOGY” for using almost the same idea that Bernard Silver had back in 1948

Augmented Reality should do what it supposed to do, augment the reality around us, not display Easter eggs from a magazine on your computer screen.

    pretty amazing use …
pretty amazing use of the technology

    What do you need …
What do you need the paper for? It’s only a rudimentary way of transmitting a code that could be transmitted electronically, after all you need a computer with internet connection anyway.

Paper is obsolete and will reach its end sooner or later, this may be a way to switch towards the future (digital media), though.

Since it is possible to have a freezer at our homes we don’t buy ice any more. This is the same. Thumbs up @itbitme.

just because you are gay and don’t want to come out … don’t take your anger out on me. reread my comment … granted esquire isn’t the first to do ar coding, but they are the first to bring it to the masses in north america. try leaving your parents basement some time.

    The primary use of …
The primary use of this technology imo in the future, or very soon I hope will be for tracking purposes in immersive systems using stereo optic eye-displays, all though a system of that kind would ideally rely on a virtual construct of the surroundings using real time mapping instead of the direct video feed as to make possible total manipulation and control.

    single handedly??? …
single handedly??? you obviously know nothing about augmented reality, esquire is most certainly not the first or best to have utilized. give me a break.

I think it’s amazing, but apparently I need a better graphics card? I consider my laptop to be pretty up to date, and if I need a new graphics card to view it, that kinda bums me off.
