How would it be possible for a realty agent to keep your deposit if you haven’t occupied the place yet.?

I was told that he can’t take my deposit he told me he could because his lawyer said so.

Well, the big question is, did you sign anything?

If you did, read it and see what it says about deposits, and that’s what you have to do, no exceptions.

If you didn’t, then, no matter what his lawyer says, no, he CAN’T keep it, although you will probably have to go to Small Claims Court to get it back from him.

If you didn’t sign anything, I would suggest you tell him you’re willing to go to Small Claims if necessary, and then offer to split it with him so you can both just get this over with and move on. It’s a fair deal, and it avoids a lot of hassle for you.

Can a person who doesn’t even live in the area file a zoning complaint against a homeowner?

I recently was cited by pima county zoning (in Vail AZ.) after a complaint was filed. When I checked into it I found out that the person who filed it was Realty Agent who doesn’t even live in the same city.Is that legal? What can I do about it?

The realty agent who filed the complaint must prove that he has standing to do so. In other words, he must have a legitimate interest that is harming him to be able to file the complaint. You can argue he lacks standing because he doesn’t live in the neighborhood. He may argue that your grass was too tall and that’s causing a problem for him to sell the house next door to yours.

You can appeal the complaint. Not enough info here to determine what the complaint was, but there will be info on the complaint informing you who to call to appeal it. Good luck.

House I’m renting is getting forclosed, what can I do?

House got for-closed on yesterday and was sold at the courthouse but the realty agents that are managing the property. They are telling me that I still owe them rent that is due on the 15th or I will lose my deposit, can they do this?
This realty agency is collecting rent for the person that no longer owns the place.

The realty company is presently collecting rent for the new owner. You are not entitled to live there for free now, you either pay the rent or they will evict you.
