Has anyone ever heard of a realty company accepting credit cards to pay security deposit on a rental home?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin

The monthly rent is not a problem. We are scheduled to move on Dec 2nd. We had a house to move into already and it fell through on the other end, so now we have to find a new house at the last minute. The security deposit wasn’t in our budget.

At my property, we accept Visa, MC and Discover for anything, including a deposit. It’s quick, easy, and we’re notified instantly when we run it if it’s gone through or not. My company uses an online credit card merchant to run credit cards on – we type in the number and it processes instantly.

There’s no disputing or cancelling it once it’s been run – I’ve never run into that problem in the 3 years we’ve been accepting credit cards as deposits. We even have a way for residents to sign up with a credit card or checking account to have the monthly rent and utilities to be automatically deducted once a month.

The only credit card we don’t accept is American Express, due to the extremely high merchange fees for processing it.

What are the top 3 realty companies to work with in Scotland?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin

I’m looking to possibly buy a home in Scotland and want to know what are some reliable realtors/realty companies to help me. Thanks in advance.

They are called estate agents in Scotland. Most agents advertise property online and some solicitors also act as estate agents. Google property sales in the town you are interested in.
The best agent will be the one who has the property you want! After that, your solicitor deals with the seller’s solicitor.

Property Investments In Bulgaria or in Spain http://www.property-investments.net ?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin

I was wondering where to invest in Bulgaria or in Spain? Have found some realy great property listings in http://www.property-investments.net/bulgaria.html and http://www.property-investments.net/spain.html – Hot Property Listings. What will be your advise? Where is better to invest in realty?

Bulgaria has just joined the European Union so you can expect property prices there to soar in the coming years. Also, it has been known for a very long time to attract tourism from around the world because of its beautiful Black Sea beaches and breath-taking mountains. Spain does not seem to have much going for it right now…
Remember to check the real estate firms for legitimacy before buying anything because there are a lot of scams!

Realtors and the cars they are required to drive…why?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin

One of my neighbors is a Realtor who has three cars:a ‘77 Chevy Nova coupe, a ‘07 Honda Ridgeline "truck", and a ‘89 Olds Toronado…

He owns his own realty firm here in town, but now the local board of Realtors is harassing him because of those cars he drives…he’s sold more homes in the area than those fellow Realtors affiliated w/ the "big-name" companies(Century 21, Prudential, Coldwell Banker, etc.), and the clients tell him to NOT sell those cars because he emotes the "small-town" feel, while his "friends and colleagues" are driving around in their Lexuses, Infinitis, and Lincolns and making fun of his "junk"…I think they’re JEALOUS, and yet they act like Donald Trump(all "hoity-toity" and stuff like that)…and yet he will NOT give up those cars…

The board has gone so far as to threaten to revoke his city’s business license(AND Chamber of Commerce membership!) simply because he will not "toe the line" and drive a "upscale" car…

Is it a REQUIREMENT for ALL Realtors to drive ONLY "upscale" cars, just simply to uphold/maintain a certain "image"?

I also apologize to ALL Realtors nationwide for asking this ?, but my neighbor’s just sick and tired of this "rule", especially here in the L.A. area…

Please explain…thanks…
I didn’t say it was the law in your state/county/city or town, but it’s just ludicrous that any Realtor has to "toe the line" and drive something as part of his work just to make his "friends" happy…I do agree w/ that last answer, though…

You too, Monty?

I have a friend who actually got kicked off her local board of Realtors(and her Chamber of Commerce membership revoked) just because she continued to drive her ‘75 Dodge "Baja Van" despite repeated calls for her to drive a Lexus instead…and like your neighbor, she was an independent Realtor as well…she HATES Lexus and Infiniti, and she got NO complaints from her clients, so she kept up HER image!…and paid the price for it…she once lived out in Temecula(only for 2/ 1/2 years), but community pressure(mostly religious, of course!) forced her to move to the San Gabriel Valley five months ago!

Reassure your neighbor that he’s not alone in this dilemma!
